Ashley's story

I always image one day the headlines will say, “Breaking News! Researchers have just discovered a universal cure for eczema. It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here.”

But until that day arrives I’ll tell you a little bit about my story.

The terrible twos had a different meaning for me, as it was the year I was officially diagnosed with eczema. While most two-year-olds were reaching their developmental milestones…I was too busy ripping into my skin. Instead of focusing on my ABC’s and 123’s, I was itching and scratching behind my elbows, wrists, and knees. My eczema, like many others, has been an unpredictable whirlwind of a constant itch-scratch-rash cycle.

Year after year I tried different methods to ‘treat’ my eczema. Only for it to come back with a vengeance. After dealing with this condition for decades, I realized I needed to take action. If humans could create bionic limbs, fly spaceships to the mood, and clone animals, SURELY they can figure out how to stop an itch. It’s was then that I realize eczema needed a platform, for funding.

Due to this, I started a blog called Itchin Since ’87. I’ve made it my life's mission to help others with eczema atopic/dermatitis. Ultimately, I want to help prevent it and find a cure.
